In college, I learned each person has a unique voice that needs a bit of nurturing and constructive feedback. My writing developed in workshops and by the college newspaper editor. Even the best writers thrive when their work is workshopped (and workshopped again) by others!
I also learned that you can almost always cut at least 10% of your copy.
